Is there an actual, physical Philosophers' Stone? Before you write me off as naive, hear me out. Before I read the Arbatel, I always assumed that the philosophers' stone was just an allegory for the magical process: the capturing of formless energy, giving it structure and shape, and then releasing it. However, the Arbatel seems to suggest that Ophiel can make an actual philosophers' stone by transmuting mercury. WHat do you all think?

Perhaps it is the Western alchemical version of the "Diamond Body" spoken of in Eastern Tantric spirituality. The Arbatel is written in code. If you understand what mercury (the substance) represents in philosophical alchemy and what the writer has to say about the second of the 7 "secrets" throughout the Arbatel, you will have a better understanding that way

I've been buying them since they were released, not second hand so I haven't spent that much. Most of these systems of magic can be seen as regressive, and they really don't offer any coherent answers to legitimate problems, at least not for me. They certainly have made me ask more questions, which is I think a good thing. I originally only got into this shit because I liked black metal at one point.

You'll need around 5-7 pennies (or copper coin from your country) and a straw, put these aside.
Get a clear jar, scoop 2 tablespoons of salt into it, and 1 tablespoon of baking soda.
