ITT: Shit books you read or started to read that make you want to burn them and bitch-slap the author.

Started reading "Captive Queen: A novel of Eleanor of Aquitaine" by Alison Weir. Starts out interesting as a dude is coming to the court while Eleanor sits next to her husband, King Louis, and remembers her affair with the dude coming to the court. Then he arrives and she's all "homg I miss my time with him, it was lovely~" Then she notices the dude's 18 year old son, Henry, and suddenly her entire attitude changes to "omfg he is so hot he is the one for me we are destined to be together I never cared for his daddy anyway and he wasn't that great in bed omg!" So then she flirts with Henry and later that night he sneaks into her room and they have sex. I have nothing against literary porn, since I write some, but my god trope of all tropes--she marvels at how big his dick is and how "passionate" their "love-making" is. Then she plots how to leave her husband and children she didn't bother to raise to be with Henry and have lots of orgasms forever and ever oh and become queen of England.

Fucking dropped.

Wheel of Time. I made it through the first book but it was so insufferably generic I couldn't remember much about it after that. Didn't bother to follow up with the rest, and lost most of my taste for what passes for current fantasy.
