It pretty much means that you will do whatever is in your power to sabotage a system in order to hasten its demise so that you can replace it with something else.
e.g. in politics if you were right-wing, an accelerationist would vote for left-wing candidates as they believe that their bad policies, mainly regarding economics and immigration, would work to hasten the, already, inevitable demise of the country.

>> No.12590320

Broadly, that history (or technology or capitalism, there are a few different versions) is autonomous, and humans have a very limited input in how it unfolds. The only thing they can do is "accelerate" its unfolding, by accentuating its main features and removing any "braking" mechanisms in its way.

That can be left-wing (that capitalism needs to "accelerate" so it collapses into communism) or right-wing (capitalism needs to accelerate because it's progress is inevitable anyway) and it can also be pro-tech (accelerate for AI God and Singapore racist technostates) or it can be anti-tech (accelerate to make the inherent contradictions in technology lead to its collapse and bring us back to more primitive tech--this is decelerationism)

This doesn't capture all of it but it's the main jist

First of all , I am desensitized to all media so usually nothing gets to me, whether it is sadness or horror or joy. I simply appreciate the good works and move on.
This being said , Pet Sematary ruined me. This is only my 3rd King novel ( I read The Shinning and Bag of Bones in highschool) so maybe it is because I am not used to reading his work, but this book to me has been so disturbing that whenever I think about continuing to it, I get uncomfortable and procrastinate. I love it but I am just not sure if I can finish it.
I read the 2/3 of the book so far. I know what is going happen. I new from the first turning point ( you know, Church the cat incident ) but still I cannot go on.
It is not fear but just pure discomfort that keeps me from finishing it. Ever since I started to read it , it always comes up on my mind randomly. I look at cute cat videos on Reddit and instantly my mind goes to the book. King ruined cats for me.
This is more of a rant because I never experienced such a thing with any kind of a media so it is really strange for me , I do not know about Stephen King fandom , but is this normal for his work or am I being crazy? Or is it special only for this book?
