I keep seeing you all talk about Catholicism, but does anyone know anything about orthodox Christianity? Wherever I’ve looked online the information has been quite lackluster to be honest. Where can I look into it better?

One reason might be the lack of historical presence of Orthodox influence in western educational institutions. There's still probably more information available now than ever before so it shouldn't be to hard to come across unless your looking in expressed by non-orthodox places maybe.

I reccomend Orthodox Christianity, by Hilarion Alfeyev. Four volumes are currently available in English

I was baptized in 2017, was a catechumen for a year before that, happy to answer any questions

You probably need to search for the Greek orthodox church, they have strong presence in America so they will probably have some translation and guidance.
Or see what kind of orthodox church is near you and check that out.

I would suggest Antiochian if possible, much, much higher presence of converts.

Is there a big difference between Greek Orthodox and the rest? For example Russian and other Slavic nations? I could include middle eastern and Eastern Orthdox Christians here too.

I’m actually orthdox christian, my family on my fathers side is. But I’ve never been to connected to it, also I don’t live in the country I’m from. But I’ve taken an interest in faith recently and would like to learn as much as possible. I’ve already started fasting which I only ever did before Christmas and Easter.

I would like to know which bible would be the best to read as an orthodox Christian as well as any other literature. Lectures would also be of interest to me. Would I maybe need to just go to an Orthodox Church to learn more? Sorry if these questions are daft but I really don’t know much at all.

And also I would like to know what made you convert?

I would recommend Kallistos Ware.

Nah, nil

Nah the only difference is the language of the liturgy, (they do it in English too) adn the head of the church. The orthodox cant change anything in the dogma unless all churches form a counsel and agree unanimously about it.

Alright, thank you anon. Do you know what bible would be the best to read? I do see kjv is mentioned on the catholic threads so would it be the same for orthdox or would it be a different version?
