how the FUCK do i write descriptively? i really have no idea how to describe things without being pure cringe. every story i write ends up being some kind of le hemingway minimalism because i lack the skills to do imaginative writing full of colors and shapes and smells. what are some books that help with this? should i go to an MFA?

Instead of writing a paragraph of description, weave the description into what's happening, unless the point of that bit is to introduce something new. Get the most out of each moment describing the shit out of what's relevant at that moment rather than dumping everything about a place immediately which is better suited to cinematography imo.
