I read "no Longer Human - Dazai" and "The Sailor.... - Mishima" and disliked the first and was discontented with the later.
I know Kokoro is a short read so I will most likely jsut read it when I find the time to one day, but will it actually save the impression of japanese literature I have.

"Is Kokoro good" and " Will I enjoy it" are separate questions that cannot be answered objectively. If you already have a bad taste in your mouth from Japanese literature than I doubt it will save the impression you have. Whatever reason you have for disliking the books you read are probably the reasons I liked them (at least that's how it seems when I mostly listen to people talk about trying Japanese literature) .
