Another direction you could go with this is AI. Advanced AI capable of at least human-level AGI performance and used in the production process of some privately-owned and sold commodity might literally be sentient capital if the right cognitive elements were emergent.

I also like to look at it as art since different currencies in different areas put different art. You can use it as reference for how much art is worth such as $1.00 worth of art is put into the $1.00 dollar bill. $0.01 worth of art is put into penny, etc. Then you know how much your book is worth for reference!

Capital is not sentient nor intelligent.
It is more akin to a "super organism". An ant colony is the super organism of the ants, the beehive that of the bees. Ants and bees must obey to the rules and needs of the super organism, to the point that their individual life is completely devoted to it and it is expendable.
But in ant colony sentient? Is a beehive intelligent? Take away ants and bees, it is merely an organized space.
So capital is the super organism of post the industrial revolution humanity.

Well not capital in particular, but in Peirce's system capital is a sign, and in Peirce's system signs are living, minded things, you should read Peirce.
If you don't read Peirce you can't really understand how capital deterritorializes the biosemiotic regime, and how spooky that is.

Charles Sanders Santiago Peirce.
No one work, he never published a book, you have to read a bunch of essays and unpublished manuscripts. Start with the philosophy encyclopedias, then the Essential Peirce and use Google scholar to find secondary literature.
Then their is the other Peirceian semioticians and biosemiotics.
