I think it correlates with the rise of incel culture and male alienation. Men are being plunged deeper and deeper into bitter solitudes with little consolation, their wonky ideologies are being echoed by equally miserable twenty-somethings and teenagers online, their life philosophy doesnt involve finding solace, but capitalistic means to protect their ego. With humans, civilization acts as the selective breeder (instead of nature).
