I knew an Alice Walker in high school. She was a Stacy but fairly agreeable. She's 24 now, like me. Why should I care what she thinks of Christianity? She probably didn't even go to college.

Yeah, Girard made me pretty skeptical of most organized forms of Christianity though. Once you throw out subsitutionary atonement, its difficult to find a theological home within mainstream Christianity. My friend once told me a chaplain at his school got kicked out of his evangelical tradition (not sure which one) for arguing against a sacrificial model of atonement.

Apparently most of Eastern Orthodoxy is fairly Girard friendly, but I don't really know where to start with them
