Last time I tried to read at the library I saw around 8 homeless people sleeping on the floor. More of them were just sitting around on their phones in the reading areas.(backpack, long hair, beards, dirty clothes) On the second floor you had kids gaming and playing youtube videos and music at full blast on the public computers. Nobody says or does anything.

Might be better up in the north or in the country but in the south, in big cities, the libraries are not for reading.

Absolutely 100% true holy shit. I loved my library as a little kid but now there's like homeless dudes showering in the bathrooms and people like playing counter strike source.

Sometimes my family is too loud and I want to leave to read somewhere else but idk where. My local library is physically small, has a small selection of books, and has homeless people. I never know where to go :/. Maybe my local college would be good even if I don't take classes there.

That should suggest something to you. It may make the library more unpleasant, but it suggests something about American society.

Oh no, they have what is called Section 8, that provides free rent payments to anyone for just being poor. But again, women get priority and you have to be drug free.
