I use lainchan and arisuchan more than 4chan. I check them at least a couple times a day. They are one of the few places where you can actually have interesting discussion with vaguely smart people. They are essentially like if the /lit/ /his/ and /sci/ boards here were the only things on 4chan.

There's no shitposting on 420chan's lit. It's just incredibly dry of quality discussion. Drier than here. Even here it's incredibly difficult to find a good post/discussion. A quality discussion only comes once a week.

Just take any thread about German literature as an example. I can tell you right now they will discuss Steppenwolf and Kafka. If we're lucky someone has heard of Goethe and that's it.

Those two used to be one imageboard, but they split up. Arisuchan is much less active, the only people who bothered to stick with it are those who orbited the girl on the staff and a bunch of Russians who are just refugees from another website. The chick is gone now though and a rather infamous memelord is now the admin, I don't see it having much of a future unless he has matured a lot.
There's even more than that, but they're very small.

Used to browse the site which can't be named, eightchan's father site. It was an interesting place in the day, mix of high quality r9k posting and the domestic terrorist fringe of /new/. Looking back on it, and how many actual terrorist attacks and arrests spawned from such a small site, it's kind of incredible. Someday I'd like to write, at the least, an extended essay on the topic.

Pic related was an especially interesting character who came out of that site. A deranged schizophrenic who would regularly go on 30-hour posting binges, and was generally incapable of differentiating between his imagination and reality. Held pretty much every insane right wing opinion under the sun, and had a total lack of regard for human life. Believed he could use his imagination to reach into the astral plane and develop the magic powers necessary for creating a white ethno-state. I can only assume he's either dead or institutionalized by now, and it's a good thing he never shot up a school. That said, there were a lot of weirdos there. Chemfag, a pedophile/CIA plant who would regularly discuss bomb and drug manufacturing techniques. A couple domestic terrorists who got arrested sending weapons across state lines. At least one murderer. A poster who somehow was able to access the site from a Russian prison. A representative and spokesman for the Greek Golden Dawn party. Lots of libertarians and esoteric Hitlerists. The r9k section always had high quality OC though, but gradually dwindled and died as it was suffocated by it's racist twin brother.
