Ask someone who stole books from libraries daily until he had over 500 and then read them all anything.

I REGRET NOTHING.

How'd you handle the scanners? Remove the tags or use a Faraday cage?

>> No.1398367

why do this when you could read one or more at a time, return them and let others enjoy them?

When I become a librarian I'm going to slit your throat with your own library card.

>> No.1398375

I would admire you if you had stolen from big bookshops.

put a bag down on the counter with your book in it next to the scanner then walk through and pick up the bag with the book in it and walk out

my library is old and doesnt have one so i just put the books in my oat pockets, check out something random so the librarians dont get suspicious and walk right out

I just slipped em off with a small pocket knife and used lighter fluid on a rough paper towel to get rid of any access glue. Some books are really doctored up though and I would just leave the tags on and tell people I bought the book from the library if they commented on it.

Or did you mean how did I get books with scanners out of the library? I didn't remove them in house and many libraries didn't have beepers or cameras or anything, and the ones that did my backpack held at a good height just went over them usually.

I steal from book stores a ton too, and once I was stealing about six books, had them wrapped up in my jacket and dropped them over the staircase so they wouldn't get caught by the scanner. The trick is a long wool coat, cut through the pocket and then use the entire bottom for stealing.

Have you ever been caught? How did you start stealing from libraries? Did you have friends that told you or did you just figure it out yourself? I want to steal from libraries and bookstores, please share your wisdom.

>most libraries struggling to exist
>perform childish acts of bravery

congrats, that's the same level as stealing money from a bum
you are a bad person and you fucking know it

I have never been caught. I choose to steal from libraries because they have less security than from bookstores, but I steal from bookstores as well.

I began stealing from libraries because I wanted a collection of books and books are far too expensive to buy a lot of.

Here are some big tips. Long coat with pockets. Basically you cut into the pockets and use the entire coat as your pocket, it can basically fit anything without detection and you can slip things in very indiscreetly. This is what I use to steal most everything and I've been caught on camera stealing a bottle of pop once. The guy came out to confront me, felt my pockets and found nothing. I told him I put it back in store and he was forced to concede.

IT WAS DOWN BY MY FEET AT THE BOTTOM OF MY COAT.

Don't do this and look suspicious though. Wear the long coat fashionably, not weirdly.

In my non shitty country libraries are stocked, budgeted and paid for by the government. Librarians make government salaries.

Information wants to be free I guess. Good work!
Now convert them to digi and upload to internets - you know it's the right thing to do instead of just bragging about your book abduction skillz.

Could you post a picture of the coat? I'd really appreciate it.

Nah. Trust me mang, it's just a wool coat like you would buy at the Gap, but it's a bit longer. Pair it with a scarf in winter and no one will suspect you of theft.

In fact I did buy it at the Gap,

I got a wool coat and scarf for Christmas.

Now I'll be able to steal all the books I want!

Is this coat a trench coat? Because if it goes down to your feet it must be pretty damn long...

Take a step back and ask yourself if you really believe that what you're reading is plausible.

Op here, stealing about 10 books a week for awhile until you have about 500 is DAMN PLAUSIBLE.
