so what's your argument founded on? is it moral? legal? both? if you're in the US are you going to critique the 13th amendment? what does the Catholic Church have to say about the death penalty? isn't performing executions via the death penalty literally just the state throwing its hands in the air and abandoning the possibility of restorative justice? (after all, the dead guy won't be around to be able to amend.) find examples of guys who have been executed. find out their stories and whether they were repentant or not. read enough on the topic and you'll start to form an opinion which you can turn into a thesis for your paper. you've got a whole day and a half, it's doable my man.

look this stuff up on wikipedia and look further into their citations, you can probably find a lot of this is out there on google books or whatever.

Why not?
In most societies, states are run by democratically elected officials therefore by extension the laws are democratically agreed upon with the exception of the constitution.
Unless the constitution specifically states that the state cannot kill anyone under any circumstance whatsoever, then the death penalty is completely legal and democratically agreed upon by extension.

It's probably impossible to tell. Courts generally don't give a fuck after the person is dead.

Kant literally supports the death penalty. By the first formulation of the categorical imperative criminal punishment is morally justified. It would be immoral by the CI (2) to execute a man *solely* to send a message but as a punishment for an extreme crime its absolutely justified.

Because the state is an entity which is run by the people and thereby acts in the interests of the people, whilst corporate entities inherently acts in the interests of the owners of the company.
A state cannot pass death penalty laws without majority consent of the people it legally affects, and likewise the judiciary system is by extension democratically representative hence death sentences are all democratically approved.
On the other hand, a corporate entity can add a clause for executions if, and only if, assuming that the workers are all unanimous in statehood and it is legal to do so in said state, and the corporation belongs to said state, which already means that the execution clause is under majority consent of the population.
However, corporate entities cannot execute people nor add clauses on executions on their contracts because it is illegal to do so and I cannot think of any exceptions in contemporary civilisations.

Because you only acknowledge advancements in one field as it favors your argument.
Abolishing death penalty now doesnt bring back anybody who died, so its sole benefit has to be with regards to the future. If forensic science is better now, what happened in the past is in no way indicative of future false positives.

>>14223620
>the young
absolutely are. Child Protective Services is state controlled to serve the interests of the young
>felons
absolutely are. State attorneys will represent felons in court.
>non citizens
yes, a society has no responsibility to those not part of it. Non-citizens have not joined the group and thus the group has no obligation to serve them. Furthermore, even non-citizens are represented by some states in the form of Sanctuary cities or other shit

>> No.14223673

The people working for a corporate entity, who are the people the contract and the execution clause affects, are not inherently the shareholders who have the power to elect and depose corporate officials. The people of the state and their legal citizenship are inherently the people the laws which elected officials propose and pass.
Corporations are controlled by shareholders but its rules and contracts affect the workers who are not inherently the shareholders.
Therefore, it is possible and also likely that shareholders hold power over the worker.
The power dynamics between shareholders and workers is inherently different from that of state and citizenship.
