anyone here has made political activism and political philosophy a kind of substitute for religion and interpersonal contact? 27 yo KHHV collectivist anarchist here and my radical politics is the only way to cope with life I participated in black blocs in the past to release the tension. what are some good books that detail the psychology causes and effects of political fanaticism? I personally only know of Hoffer's "True Believer"

It’s not wise to put the fate of your happiness and wellbeing into the hands of other people, or in the hands of mass movements and ideologies. You simply won’t be able to control so many individual, so many causes and consequences. Not even Napoleon or Alexander could do it.

Best thing is to solve yourself. I don’t know how to do it, but I know that the path you are seeking is destined to fail, no matter how well you procede and how much you achieve.
