you can do it man just start small. If you're bothered at all about having no favourite author just browse a few "top 100 books of 80s/90s/all time" and just pick a few, if you don't like what you are reading then just stop - you aren't obligated to finish a book and you've just found something to add to the "don't like" list. You'll find something eventually. Reading is one of the few areas in life where there truly is something for everyone. Some people claim to not have a single sport they enjoy to do or watch and could watch literally every sport on Earth and never find one they like - but if someone claims they don't enjoy books they simply haven't found one they like yet.
Not everyone needs a degree to have a meaningful life, and some people just aren't cut out for it. If this is you don't let that get you don't, if not, then know it's never too late.
As for work, volunteer 1 day a week somewhere. Even half would be fine to get the ball rolling, and even if you had jobs in the past it will be a good way to ease back into, start socialising again, and all that good stuff.
As for body count, male or female, to have 'getting laid' or 'getting a gf/bf' as a goal is pretty futile to be honest with you. It needs to come organically as a result of being yourself. I know it's cliche but my advice is "you do you, and eventually someone will tag along"

Why not, do you have experience in gold trading? I've only got 1 half ounce bar and a 10 gram bar. I only intend to get to 1 ounce for the time being.
The price of gold jumped up by £150 per ounce the day after the Brexit referendum, and it's been dropping since September. If it jumps up again significantly after the 31st (actual Brexit) I might just sell what I have so far and knock it on the head. it was a pretty impulsive thing on my part to buy the half ounce anyways

If you bought it beforehand as a kind of safe currency, that can workish...

Seriously, just don't buy gold. You expose yourself to all sorts of risks and you don't make any real gains with it generally. You'd be better off buying so many other things at this point.

No you don't.

I have a bachelor's in liberal arts and half the people I work with have the kind of degrees you're referring to. Eggheads are important, but most high-paying, highly specialized positions require a skill set you can only get from experienced because there isn't a title that describes what we do.

Only dudes with vapid personalities and no social life place that much importance on their STEM or otherwise quantitative degrees. Every anti-social guy analyzing data points and calculating historical/future trends think they're in that club with Neumann and Godel.

You realize after about two years how little your transcript matters if you're career-oriented and legitimately good at what you do.

Not the guy you responded to but I used to work on a commodity trading desk for a large bank. The spreads baked into selling physical gold, especially retail investors like yourself are huge. You need to see the metal appreciate 20-30% just to break even on the spreads charged. You then have to worry about storage and security of the physical metal. If you’re able to save, continually buy an all world stock index fund and save up to buy a small place if you can afford it. Good luck fella.

I am Catholic. I had a conversion and came to the Church a few years ago after I'd slept with the 2 other people. I'm not proud of the ".5" with her, but it's hard to always resist temptation when you're with someone you find attractive for over 2 years. We've managed to avoid actually having sex thankfully and nowadays we're managing to resist doing anything "below the waist", by the grace of God.

i was rapt with it from the beginning. I think some appreciation for the Bible is important for reading Moby Dick. Job, Ecclesiastes and Psalms are foundational to get the right feel of the book. World weariness, the blank, the leviathan felt to me to be the most important and engrossing parts of the novel. Its hard to describe what Moby dick is because, at the risk of sounding too pithy, the book describes it self and it is Moby Dick, the Leviathan

One bachelor in japanese, one in korean (lived and worked there), the master is in tourism project management.
I have always found ways to finance those without borrowing, just by working, I have never known debt, I'm just stupidly tired for my age I guess and just want a quiet lifestyle.

Thanks anon, but I am truly an awful, terrible sinner. I really fully realised this when I met her, even the fact that I still come on 4chan after 12 years says it all. I'm weak, but worst of all I use my weakness to shift responsibility from myself. It's all very well lying there crying and saying "I don't want to sin", far too often I will say that and do it anyway. After all the prodigal son's father didn't come and pick him up in the dirt where he lay, the son first had to start walking home and the father came and met him half way. My girlfriend, on the other hand, has never even become 'prodigal'- never drank alcohol, never been clubbing, lives at home with her tight-knit irish family who are all Catholic. The only downside is she's very money-oriented and doesn't want to get married until we can afford to buy a decent house, which will be ~3 years yet.

Reading this thread, it's really interesting to see what everyone does. I want to stress that the most important thing is enjoying life, it's all too brief after all.

I want say to the younger users that it's key to take every opportunity, especially socially, I have brilliant memories from many different places, and although I'm no lothario or social butterfly I've managed to share amazing memories with loads of different people (male and female) from all over. Never forget what you think is cool because to be cool is to be invulnerable to cool, just remain open to adventure and don't close yourself off.

I've been visiting here since 2011 and this is the most genuine and caring post I've ever made!

I mean it's not like she doesn't want him to rape her. That's the point, she loves him because he does things for his own purposes and isn't concerned with others. Him then asking her for consent would break that magic, because then he wouldn't do it for himself which would make her want him less.

How do I know this? Because Rand admitted Dominique is a self-insert and Roark is obviously meant to be her conception of the ideal man.
