Pretty comfy book, bit of a slog at times but I'd pin that on the translation, other times made me chuckle, sometimes made me feel. So few people today know what kinds of wacky things went on in the Baltic at that time, or what compliance with the Versailles treaty entailed on the ground in places like the Ruhr or Silesia. I'd recommend this to anyone interested in historical oddities that will (or have) disappeared from public memory in time, not just those who will sympathize with the author.
