Philosophy audio books? Does this work? What you recommend? Im too ADHD to actually read. I have read at most 4 books in my 24 years of life and that only for school purposes. Yeah pathetic, but i have fucked 3 digit whores and i can press 315lbs in the air without blinking but hedonism is making me depressed. I wanna cure my drug addictions.

I like the quotes of schopenhauer, should i start with him?

Will you tourists fuck off? Philosophy is powerlifting of the mind and language, it's not some pop shit that even uneducated housewives could parse out a proper understanding of. It requires serious rigor and discipline to penetrate into and acquire even a superficial understanding of, it is not something achieved by passively sitting around and listening to as background noise. You are treating it like fast food in the mere positing of a question like this. Stop posting any time.

Wow, this thread showcases two kinds of equal but opposite awfulness just perfectly.

If you're serious, though, no, you can't listen to philosophy and understand it. You have to read most philosophy very slow, and go back and forth over each paragraph a couple times. It's almost always too abstract to understand unless you're focusing on it with all of your intention.

Religious texts like the Tao Te Ching might work, or epic poetry. Ideally, find something that was originally intended to be transmitted orally, or at least something that pays some amount of attention to metre.

Philosophy is for all minds, all people.
Popculture calls it music, for youth doesn't give one bit for harmony. The popsongs they like is BECAUSE of the Lyrics they can relate to.

And philosophy, is there to love the art of language. Why should you, unless you are still a teenager, like the ideas of others so much? Write you own, and if you are good at writing, maybe some simplemind will read your work so they call quote you and feel, unfairly, smart. Qutoters are copycats who lack the ability to come up with meaningful things that resonate with others.
