I picked this book up at a Goodwill as a joke and ended up being mindblown. Try to get the original edition if you can, the subsequent editions have the writer chasing the old flame and never quite capturing it.
The book made me feel so wise that I made the fatal mistake of loaning out my original 1960s copy, deluded by a mistaken hope in humanity. Never under any circumstances loan books.
