Am I the only one who comes here to learn new stuff about books, to discover other authors, etc., but who pays no attention to those annoying tripfags and Tao Lin threads?

Anyway, let's do a little study.

>How long have you been in /lit/?

>How many books did you read last year?

>Do you pay attention to our most "popular" tripfags (tybrax, D&E, Brownbear, etc)?

>How long have you been in /lit/?
A few months. I've been on 4chan for 4 years now, but it was predominately /b/ (and then /r9k/ when it came around), /ck/, and /an/. I didn't really realize there was even a literature board until a few months ago.

>How many books did you read last year?
New books? About 20 or so. I reread a bunch of books, too. This year I'm reading 100. I'm already 10 down, so I suppose that's a good start.

>Do you pay attention to our most "popular" tripfags (tybrax, D&E, Brownbear, etc)?
Not really.

>Do you care about Tao Lin threads?
Who?

>> No.1464918

For a tripfag to become "popular" they really just have to never leave the board, right?

You only mentioned the people who're always here.

>> No.1464929

>How long have you been in /lit/?
I started browsing about April.

>How many books did you read last year?
I don't know. I think keeping count of how many books you read is a pretty obvious sign of insecurities. I don't read to level up, I read to kill time and maybe learn some interesting things in the process.
Reading to gain wisdom is like jerking off to get laid.

>Do you pay attention to our most "popular" tripfags (tybrax, D&E, Brownbear, etc)?
It's fun in its own way. I'd suggest caring less if it bothers you.

>Do you care about Tao Lin threads?
I really am going to read one of his books eventually. The threads just aren't very funny.

Not really. I find Deep&Edgy a bit abrasive insofar as I don't think he's as intelligent as he maintains he is, tybrax seems to some kind of masochist and I don't really care about Brownbear. I tend to ignore them unless they've something to contribute that I enjoy. onionring can be ok sometimes I guess

I'm not familiar with tybrax; D&E can be quite funny though opinionated and obnoxious at other times; Brownbear won my respect with a good thread about A Handful of Dust then lost it again by being a whining self-conscious dramaqueen who thinks everyone's against him and who wants to make an awful sticky for /lit/

I really try to ignore them. I'd be a fan of /lit/ becoming madatory anonymous. Someone keeps saying it but they do keep 'shitting up the board'. I think there is a firefox app that can blot them out or something. They really make me want to hang out some place else Especially D&E and tybrax. I travel a 3 hour round trip to university 3 times a week to attend a 2 hour long tutorials. Without exception these tutorials are 'shitted up' by self-aggrandizing faggots. I then travel home to relax on /lit/ and the same type of person who wasted the best part of my day rapes /lit/ with their trip-faggotry. I will be leaving once I find a better alternative.

>How long have you been in /lit/?
been here since the first day of its creation. I witnessed the birth of cum-guy, joycean farts, sexy library-threads, dr kashmir and endured the salinger and rand wars untill the summerfags purged me from this board for about 5 months. so, yeah, I am an oldfag.
>How many books did you read last year?
I didn't bother to count them, but not as much as I wanted to. at least 40 non-fiction books and maybe 10 (mostly short) novels, which makes me kinda sad.
>Do you pay attention to our most "popular" tripfags (tybrax, D&E, Brownbear, etc)?
I pay attention in the sense that they are sometimes hard to ignore. Especially D&E and ty who stick their nose into almost everything worthwhile when they haunt these halls.
>Do you care about Tao Lin threads?
"Hi there, Tao!"
thats about how much I care about it.

>How long have you been in /lit/?

Since the creation. Can't be bothered to look up when that happened.

>How many books did you read last year?
Quite a lot. I have not counted, but it's about two boxes, so I'd say 70 +

>Do you pay attention to our most "popular" tripfags (tybrax, D&E, Brownbear, etc)?

What? No, not really.

>Do you care about Tao Lin threads?

>How long have you been in /lit/?
Since the beginning or so.

>How many books did you read last year?
110 or 120. I had a lot more time on my hands than usual.

>Do you pay attention to our most "popular" tripfags (tybrax, D&E, Brownbear, etc)?
Not really, but that's probably more me being careless/forgetful than ignoring them.

None. Last year was a bad year.

>Do you pay attention to our most "popular" tripfags (tybrax, D&E, Brownbear, etc)?
I want to have sex with Tybrax. But no I do not pay attention to them.

>Do you care about Tao Lin threads?
There are Tao Lin threads?

>> No.1467990

>How long have you been in /lit/?
Since the start, but infrequently.
>How many books did you read last year?
I honestly don't know. Somewhere between fifty and eighty would be a rough estimate. Maybe as much as a hundred.
>Do you pay attention to our most "popular" tripfags?
Not really. I try to only ever be concerned with a post's content, not the author.
>Do you care about Tao Lin threads?
Nope.

About 35

No

>Do you care about Tao Lin threads?
Not really. I've read Shoplifting from American Apparel and it was ok. It's not 'the new Stranger' as I'd seen it professed, but i see where he was going with it.
