>> No.15057330

Generally agree with most of what he says, but he's undeniably an obnoxious manchild. The way he deliberately cultivates a group of sycophantic followers and retweets Twitter accounts like "Nicholas Nassim Taleb's wisdom" and some comic-book which draws him as an ultra-macho superhero, is quite frankly embarrassing. As with most "intellectuals", the more he strays from his narrow domain of expertise, the more derivative and less impressive he is.

Will be inducted in the canon, whether you like it or not. He's also living the dream. Made his fortune and now just doing whatever the fuck he wants. Reading, writing, not taking shit. Has an actual audience too. Probably saved (at least) hundreds of lives during this pandemic. I'm sure 99% of /lit/ is just jealous of him.

I think I'm going to have non-consensual sex with Nassim Taleb.

I am decided: Nassim Taleb will be raped within the month. I will devote myself to finding out his residency, his routines, and I will plot and plan my moment of violation meticulously. This is a very real goal I have set, and I shall know neither rest nor mortal satisfaction until it has been attained.

If you think about it, how is Nassim Taleb different from a woman? They are equally timid. Equally frivolous. Equally acquiescent. Equally narcissistic. Equally upset by a combination of words or ideas that do not conform to the status-quo. And no doubt Mr. Taleb has sucked a penis too--maybe just a silicon one (for now), but nevertheless he has tried it; has been struck with the same sort of 'oh-i'm-so-so-naughty' inclination that seizes all women at some point in their life and with the frenzied tom-tom of feminine sexuality blaring in their head which is only ever empty and only ever filled when the image or implication of a Penis can be grasped in external reality, and just like such a woman has Nassim Taleb greedily taken hold of the dildo that he secretly keeps in his top drawer (why disguise it further? why, wouldn't he be happy if someone were to discover his little perversion? oh think of how oh so so naughty that would be!) and after taking the full 7.5" of rubber down his throat he is filled with such a thrill such that no expression of his "masculine" sexuality has ever come close to attaining.

Hmm, indeed, the lines between Woman and Nassim Taleb continue to blur, and my dick continues to rise. Raping him could be ethically and epistemologically justified, both through Utilitarian ethics and Platonic Teleology, but I will not go into that here. Suffice to say that raping Nassim Taleb would be a net benefit for the world as such, as material entity and conceptual ideal. It would be a rape that would satisfy so many hearts, so many minds, and most importantly my own penis.

This plan doesn't sound antifragile. Therefore a black swan may thwart the execution of your plan. Keep in mind Taleb wants to be the Tony Soprano of the intelectual cosa nostra. He doesn't know this but its clear as day to some. He's also an avid dead lifter. More importantly he knows the importance of having skin in the game if he's to be the pseudfather of the intellectual mafia. So he may use your planned attack as the opportunity to make his bones and in the process you could be the one that gets his fat tail destroyed

only because he thinks it makes him "phoenician" and that to him it is a cultural practice not a matter of life and death. Why would a follower of Christ want to be as rich as Taleb?

What's with him LARPing as an Italian? Lebanon has been conquered lots of times, he likely has no direct lineage to the Phoenicians proper. He's an Arab that shouts at you to buy his wares at a bazaar, not a Med Hellenic scholar or Renaissance thinker.

Taleb really stuck to me. I don't get most of what he says, as I didn't get deep into the statistics course during university, we are on different scales of being. To me he was the first person who gave a shit about my grandmother stories. He appeals to my logic. The chapter of fuck your money really stood out, as most of the time I was searching for a direction in life, a way to take the correct decisions and avoid suffering. Also he wrote about never taking advice from anyone who hasn't skin in the game. And really most of the people you met in life think they know more than you, when we are really inside the same game, barely surviving, going in circles as the dumbfucks we are. I don't know if this is how Peterson fags worship him because he was the first person who recommend them to clean their rooms. I have to say he is insightful and will introduce a couple fun ideas. I just don't wish that /lit/ circlejerks around him, the whole colonialism virus /lit/ has stuck us in a phase that reduces to "bro the black swan is real". I know think the statements reflect anything, but are a echo box of sorts.'

He published a paper on Jan 26th (less than 2000 cases worldwide and almost all in China) arguing for strict measures like lockdowns and such. Governments everywhere were still too late anyway but some (like America's) were directly influenced by the paper in proposing current lockdown measures. He also (indirectly) convinced the UK government to stop their insane herd immunity strategy with an article in the Guardian and relentless attacks on it on Twitter.

People on here like to pretend that all the things he's saying are obvious (bad things happen, you should be prepared, things get out of hand quickly, don't take advice from idiots, get money) but he's the first to admit he's merely reiterating ancient wisdom anyway, that's largely been forgotten in the modern, overoptimized world. Shit, every other paragraph he quotes some Latin or Greek poet, and people think they're smart for saying "everything Taleb talks about has been known for centuries". Yeah, no shit. The point is that we've largely forgotten, not that he invented something new.

It's a Middle Eastern thing. Arabs are to the Middle East what Anglos are to the West. I'm half Iranian and the easiest way to trigger my Persian relatives is to call them Arabs. My usually demure aunt went on a full on sweary Facebook rant a few months back because some post referred to the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Gulf.
