How many people here actually believe in God/religion, and how many just pretend to because it's currently counterculture?

I actually do. I found the transcendental argument the most convincing, although ultimately belief of any kind isn't entirely the result of rational arguments. I'm big on Orthodox theology now, but I still read a lot of other works from other religious or mystical streams. I still enjoy contrasting Orthodox Christian theology with Vedanta or neoplatonism, although I'm too much of a midwit to ever want to engage in debates here.

I believe in the Christian God, yet am coming to believe that Christianity has lost its essence to over-scrupulous pedants and whackjob liberals, revolting against them. This leads to our social dichotomy between liberal and conservative, and I'm beginning to realize that it's all a major fuck up. God would have wished us to forgive one another, not politicize the Bible.
