Daniel Frisperg is pretty gay but the translations are usually good and the book quality is great. Get the hardbacks so you can throw away the faggy cover art. This Spengler book has a far better cover than the others though, I can tolerate it.

Decline is a true Meisterstück. For anyone here who hasn't read it yet, I would recommend first reading Man and Technics to get a brief and easy introduction to his ideas before tackling the big boy. Man and Technics came out about 10 years after Decline if I recall correctly, and it's very good on its own as well. That one is only about 112 pages for most editions. Especially after reading Man and Technics, it's clear to see how Spengler has influenced people like Ted Kaczynski and Carl Schmitt, who are traditionally thought to be on opposite sides of the fence.

I'm a bit wary of anything coming out of Arkatos. They changed the CT Francis translation a bit in ways that make me uncomfortable. In Man and Technics, for example, they change "what it means to be a thoroughbred" to "what it means to have a race". I don't speak German nor do I know the original German, but it feels weird that they'd change the translation in such a specific way like that. As if they were revising Spengler to fit their own politics. To co-opt him through purposeful misinterpretation. Where can I buy the Knopf edition?
