I'd like to get into Discworld but I'm not quite sure of where to start. I remember reading a little bit of The Colour of Magic a few years ago and not really liking it. Can I skip books or start at another point, or should I just go through them all chronologically?

You get more of the humour as an adult, I am 26 also, “Mort” is a good start for discworld.

Follow this guide.

First two Rincewind novels for world building and because they are decent in themselves
Citywatch novels starting with Guards! up to The Fifth Elephant
Truth and maybe Moving Pictures before it
Death and Witches novels in between as you feel like it, starting with the first of each line
The rest of them afterwards or in between, as to your liking of the individual characters and stories

If you get into it you will get through in no time, its just 35~ books which all can be read quite fast. The very late works like Unseen Academicals, Snuff or Raising Steam have a clear dropoff in quality as his alzheimers has been showing by then

There are different series in the discworld.
You can check out ,the night watch ,it's considered on of the best.
The is a graphic with how the books go, you can ask sffg for it.

Read anywhere you want. It doesn't matter. All the books are self contained. I read them in random order and I just went "Hey look it's X".
