Her roommate was a german 10/10 qt and they were watching Dark, but then she gets a DM from her boyfriend, an 11/10 german qt. The thing is, they were watching Dark and as the green haired girl is a GSL (German Second Language, probably just goes through 20 mins. of duolingo per week), she gets pressured (in a friendly way) to try to understand what they say in the show by her roommate, who after each chapter tests her to see how well she did. Well this stresses the first a lot, since she only wants to know what the fuck happens in the show and she's already having trouble understanding the youtube synthesis people do to explain it to midwits. Not blaming her, just noting a fact.
She'd rather watch it with english subtitles, but isn't confident enough to ask her rm to turn them on, so she feels relieved when she leaves the room, as she can turn the subtitles on without leaving her comfort zone and feeling guilt whatsoever. The thing is she's not really leaving, she just went to her room to put her lingerie on, as she's going to have one of those virtual sex sessions soon after the show ends with his bf (the 11/10 I mentioned earlier), she just did it now to save time, as this part was just Jonas convincing the other world Martha (they're watching S03 E02)

Ah, thanks, this puts things into more context. The German menace should be eradicated from the earth.
