And I haven't even gotten into the characters. Harry's mother was a badboy loving idiot who fell for his father, a racist bully who picked on a "half-blood." A school run by someone who neglected his family for fame. And finally Harry himself, who is filthy rich.

In short, the world of HP itself is highly authoritarian and bigoted, run by the rich who can do no wrong. The people who read these books cry "systemic racism" while praising a universe run by a system that elevates select people over others.

pretty much everybody in my generation in the UK grew up reading these books. They were a cultural phenomenon. Now those kids have grown up into late twenties SJWs who are unsatisfied with the lack of postmodernist cultural marxist values in the books (yeah, HP is actually kind of conservative in some ways.) Just another case of growing up and deciding to chimp out and burn your idols.

I'm the guy who thinks there is nothing wrong with Rowling saying that trans people aren't women. I read some of the interview, and it looks like she's just saying that the female, and male experience are different things, and it can't be changed without perversion.
