First book I ever read from start to finish was The Edge Chronicles. Only the first book. Prior to that I would spend literal years unable to finish a book.

I unironically didn't read as a kid. I would just stare at the pages and read summaries online to bullshit when quizzed. I don't feel I really lost out on much since it was all babby shit they were feeding us anyways

Early teens I read a lot of Stephen King, mostly his short story collections. I also read a lot of Bruce Coville, mainly the aliens ate my homework series and the short story collections he did with fellow authors.

I loved that series as a kid. The world building is excellent, very surreal like a bad fever dream. I'm actually impressed how many fantasy cliches they managed to avoid

Any other William Sleator fans?
Also I miss Goosebumps desu. I wish someone could write a series of a few dozen super short horror books for adults that wasn't absolutely horrible.

The Redwall books
This one sci-fi book about a guy travelling back in time to Batista's Cuba in order to change history so he could be with his mistress in his present, who is in a different caste than he is and where such relationships are prohibited (I forgot the name and the author of the since it's been forever since I've read it, but I remember loving it when I rented it from the library)
Artemis Fowl
Eragon
Children of the Red King
