Have any of you made good finds at a thrift store?

I bet you felt like an epic patrician in that situation while thinking to yourself "I'm gonna post about this on /lit/ later"

Actually I felt bad for the books. Like as objects, not as literature. Imagine existing entirely as something unwanted. Someone got those books first, gave them to a thrift shop, and now they'll go unbought.

I don't know what else you expected to find in a goodwill
If you want more to choose from go to a used books store

I always buy all the Bibles they have and keep one in my truck to give to a stranger after I tell him the good news.

Don’t feel bad for soulless products

How do you know they're soulless. Energy is conscious. Innert matter causes energy in the future. It has spirit-potential stored within.

Yeah, they were just trying their hardest to do their job well. I guess at least they ended up at goodwill and not a landfill.

They probably miss being a tree. Readerless books are more wasteful than a spam email.

it's your own fault. you should have made cosy charity bookshops like oxfam books instead

Any object that doesn’t offer itself as material for symbolic exchange but instead functions within the constellation system of objects is soulless anon-kun

Just got A Frolic of His Own by Gaddis and Persuasion by Jane Austen at Goodwill a couple days ago for 1$ each. I've found like 30-50 good lit books there over the years. Sometimes its even better than HPB. You're probably going to a shit location. Go to stores near the rich part of town and you will find a lot better stuff. My store is just outside the city so it gets all kinds of peoples donations.
