You're a Christian trying to make us look stupid, aren't you?

>> No.1626878

The thing is that their worldview is inconsistent... a worldview with an angry god who wreaked vengeance on the guilty would be an interesting world, but it's pretty clearly not the world we live in. After all one of the tenets of Christianity is that "none of us is righteous - no, not one" (Romans 3:10). it's fucking bizarre how little Christianity as it's practiced has to do with the actual religion.

Now now. Take comfort lad. There are more and more of us every day. The internet will help spread secularism and more and more will follow at their own pace. Till then, introduce your more open friends to Gnosticism or Deism

Kierkegaard had some very interesting things to say about religion. Of course, he would agree with you that Christianity in The Present Age (:V) is terrible, but I don't know if he'd approve of you. However, it depends on how inward you are, not your religious beliefs.

I just don't give two fucks about this shit.
I certainly think less of those who believe in gods, ghosts or boogeymen, etc.
I don't think much of anyone anyway.
My family is 100% religious and they know I think it's fucking stupid. I get a lot of shit for it in the form of insane rants about good and evil.
At least I never have to see everyone's retarded children because their parents think I will corrupt them.

want to deal with your God issues OP, read Valis by Philip K Dick...wait a few weeks then read Confessions by Saint Augustine. An emphasis is put on the word, and that is not to say that the word became flesh, but that simply there was a word, that word was God. I certainly cannot fathom a guy in the sky...however I can comprehend the existance of seemingly non existent entities in our world, Love, Cruelty, punishment...all of these things exist only in mankind, and only as words..so why cant God exist in the same manner with the same power...as a word God is given no less power than he has been given as a diety...

>> No.1626964

OP, your problem is that you equate the nutty "God's wrath" wastes-of-grey-matter with ALL theists.

It would be like me saying atheists have shrill and inconsequential videos.

Do you see the problem, here?

You really think society hasn't improved much since the ancient Babylonians. Wow. You clearly weren't reading a history book.

Spin up Robert Palmer's "Every Kinda People" (preferably the live version) and chill out.

In the end, who cares?

I believe in God, you don't. So what?

I hate athiests. Not thouse who disbelieve in Gods. I don't have any strong beliefs in them either. I just fucking hate self-identifying athiests as much as I do those religious folk who demand you believe in the same shit they do.

OP needs to calm the fuck down and grow the fuck up.
