Culturally Australia is a fucking trash heap and this is coming from someone who has lived in one of the most hyped "creative, artistic, hip, etc" places in the country for the last 10 or so years.

Australia has a culture, but any remnants of it is forgotten in the city and the "crab bucket mentality" of many areas out of it. But it is to be found in the country, it shall just take the time for an effort to emerge, which modernity, technology and globalisation has already calcified the creative urge in most of the civilised world, and I don't expect an essentially newly developing country to be any better.
