>not becoming a hermitic monk and spending every waking hour of every day studying the holy word of God.

not gonna make it friend

Maybe you can use the time of day to reflect on two seemingly contradictory things: 1) It's not in the Christian spirit to celebrate and gloat over the death of a Supreme Court justice just for being left of center 2) Christ was Syrian, not Jewish.

How many books are in your bible?
>66 - standard, agreed by prots and jews
>73 with catholic additions:
Tobit
Judith
Wisdom of Solomon
Sirach
Baruch (with letter of Jeremiah)
1 Maccabees
2 Maccabees
>78 with orthos:
Prayer of Manasseh
1 Esdras
2 Esdras
3 Maccabees
4 Maccabees

I personally think 77 is a nice total number. Maybe Prayer of Manasseh could be appended to Psalms or Chronicles.

Part of me also wishes the NT had more after it. Maybe the Apostolic fathers:
1 Clement
2 Clement
Ignatius to the Ephesians
Ignatius to the Magnesians
Ignatius to the Trallians
Ignatius to the Romans
Ignatius to the Philadelphians
Ignatius to the Smyrnaeans
Ignatius to Polycarp
Polycarp to the Phillipians
Martyrdom of Polycarp
The Didache
Barnabas
Mathetes to Diognetus
The Shepherd
But I don't know if these are Bible-worthy.

Where do I start with the bible? Do I get the King James and have at it? Specifically looking at the Oxford World Classics edition.

I'm reading KJV and it's pretty good if you are skilled at the English language.
