Acknowledgements should be stuck under the Acknowledgements title so that it can be conveniently ignored.

Also, ALL further reading (not references/bibliographies) should be annotated with extensive commentary, as a list of hundreds of titles tacked on to the end of the book is less useful that toilet paper. I buy books to borrow from the author's experience, and a little guidance through further reading would go a very long way.
