Look up Tim Ferriss' podcast with a rabbi, they go into this. Basically the rabbi says Jews invented psychology and are over-represented in new age shit because they're overly anxious (he attributes it to their history). Just look up the leading figures in psychology and you'll see.

But there's writings of elite jews who say just this. They use nepotism to further their own goals, which sometimes are opposed to the good of the society they live in. Many jews are aware of the fact that they're different, and thus want to create a society/world in which that difference is no longer seen as negative.
If you want a good rundown of this issue in the previous century with many primary sources and quotes from elite jews, I suggest you read Culture of Critique. Yes, it's memed, yes, it's called anti-semitic, but it's full of relevant information whether you agree with the author's standpoint or not.

Despite that, Rabbis (which are mostly orthodox or ultra-orthodox) might be biased themselves when it comes to describing their people. Right now I'd say that most of secular Jews distance themselves from Tora/Talmud orthodoxy and aren't really interested in their heritage/religion. They don't really identify as Jews and on the other hand are often not easily identified as Jews by others.

The first part is somewhat correct, the second part isn't. Many secular jews are still proud of their heritage. Moreso than other secular peoples in the west.

The author of Culture of Critique goes into this issue in the book, he says that while they might not openly identify as jews or not be recognised as such by outsiders, most secular jews see clues to find out who else is a secular jew (name, vocabulary, social circles etc), and they tend to feel more kinship with them than with others.
