Do you anons prefer physical copies or e books.
It seems that a lot of people like to read paper copies and i don't see whats the appeal

I prefer to read in a dark room and its so hard to cast good lightning on a paper copy, where as my phone is always bright and it makes reading comfy in darkness with some dungeon synth music in the background.

E-books are amazing for casually reading big non-fiction books. I prefer buying physical copies of good literature.

I like having everything physically. Books, music, movies, games, etc. It's getting harder and harder to do with a lot of media, but books are one of the last forms where physical copies are still the norm.

I prefer to read fiction on a Kobo e-reader, and non-fiction either physically or on an iPad due to the fast page changes for skimming/referencing.

I just associate electronics with braindead scrolling, eye strain, surveillance paranoia, and work. A physical book is very calming.

I *buy* a physical copy only if it is aesthetically pleasing. Otherwise, I get an ebook or I borrow it from a library

Tragically, if you are a PC chad, you are mostly out of luck for anything not off ebay.

Physical books are what I am used to so that's all I read. I also lend books out to friends and family on occasion since they also read physical copies. The downside to physical copies is they take up a lot of space once you get into the hundreds. So because of this, my collection is limited to only the books I want unlimited access to, and the others I check out from the library (I have a small community library 3 minutes walk from my house).

I know, it's tragic indeed. Even "physical" releases on consoles these days are beginning to essentially become an access key. It's sad.

I prefer physical, and yet I have stopped buying them. The reasons are simple but there are so many of them they pile up.
>I moved so many times in my life, it is nauseous to imagine doing it again with piles of stuff.
>Travel is kind of a pain
>I am not fickle, but I will buy things I am interested in and just never read them as I have found articles online that explain a historical topic to my satisfaction or whatever
>I feel terrible buying these books that end up unread as I feel I was wasteful with my money
>It's a pain to recoup cost by ebaying these books but charity stores feel like I wasted the money all over again (sunk cost fallacy, I suppose).
>I am something of an obsessive so If I see why bookshelf out of order, I have to go and tidy it and I torture myself with having things in order.
>I am a clean freak, so if I get marks of grease or oil from my hands on a book or break the spine or dog ear it, I get frustrated that I am careless.
>I am a slow reader so when I sincerely buy a book looking to learn about something, I feel mounting guilt that I never really gave it a chance.
I am planning on getting rid of the two shelves of books (maybe 50 in total) early next year when the tiny used book shop in my town is buying new inventory. They told me to fuck off the other week because I had too much stuff and they slow down around Christmas. Their main audience being picky collectors and snobby types (/lit/izens basically) so they don't have any copies of Michelle Obama's shit book to sell for Xmas presents and everyone goes to the big chain store across town.

Really? Playstation blu-rays at least have the data on disc at least. That's the only console I own and I don't even have it connected to the internet so I can be thankful of that. When I had a PC, it was basically impossible as most don't even have disc drives any more. Steam or some clandestine Pirate Bay crack I could never fully trust.

I relate strongly with buying books, never reading them and feeling guilty. Fuck. Feelsbadman

That's what I've heard, I think I saw online that some people had to download like 60 GB of data after buying the disk. I don't own a modern console though, so I wouldn't know first hand.

I don't feel bad deleting a file though so for me a kindle that gets clogged up with 50 volumes as I keep adding just requires a wipe and a re-download of new stuff from libgen.

>>16977916
Ah okay that would be day one patches. You have the game but it is basically buggy or areas are incomplete. Yeah, many AAA titles end up like that. I think the latest CoD was 250GB and it was a day one patch of something like 90GB. Taking the piss. I usually buy remastered of my favourite old school games or GOTY editions when it is all tidy and complete on disc. New releases are never finished though.

Does anyone know a decent desktop software for reading pdfs and epub files? Using chrome is obviously not gonna work, but if there was something that let me see all the chapters and keep book marks, reading online would be easier
