Anons, I've got a question about Southern literature - one of my friends studies literature at a top uni and he's telling me that the "Southern canon" they are presented with is just books about quadroons, homosexuality, perversion and socialism - is this true? Is this what Southern literature is reduced to? Is there a broader variety of texts in actual literature - with this being a mere academic bias - or has Southern literature truly been colonise by women and minorities?
