Khalil Gibran is dare I say the pinnacle of Arab poetry, The Madman and The Prophet are beautiful works. The influence of Francis Marrash and William Blake are evident and the bits of his poetry that are clearly influenced by Nietzsche have an incredible charm to them. Overall a great poet and I'd highly recommend everyone read The Prophet.

what are some of your favorite Islamic poets? I like Jami and Iqbal, I really really like Al-hallaj and I’m finding Attar of Nishapur‘s works to be delightful.

You seem to be a big fan of the Persian literary tradition, so a few Islamic poets I like and would really recommend are Hafez, Rumi, and Saadi Shirazi.
