I own more than that, unread.

The main reasons is that since I live in a Spanish-speaking country, when I see some book I want in English or French, I'll buy it immediately even if I don't have time to read it at the time, because otherwise I'll have to ship it from overseas which is fairly expensive.

And I also have bought some boxes of books (without knowing what was inside) because they were very cheap.

As a result I have a ton of classics to read, but not enough time at the moment.

I put the ones I'm realistically never going to read in a box that I'm gonna give to charity or sell when the lockdown ends here.
Which leaves me with 40 books on my bookshelf that I've never read, a much more manageable number.
