https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Murray

>Henry Alexander Murray (May 13, 1893 – June 23, 1988) was an American psychologist at Harvard University

>From late 1959 to early 1962, Murray was responsible for unethical experiments in which he used twenty-two Harvard undergraduates as research subjects.[6] Among other goals, experiments sought to measure individuals' responses to extreme stress. The unwitting undergraduates were submitted to what Murray called "vehement, sweeping and personally abusive" attacks. Specifically-tailored assaults to their egos, cherished ideas and beliefs were used to cause high levels of stress and distress. The subjects then viewed recorded footage of their reactions to this verbal abuse repeatedly.

>Among them was 17-year-old Ted Kaczynski, a mathematician who went on to become the Unabomber, a domestic terrorist targeting academics and technologists for 18 years.[7] Alston Chase's book Harvard and the Unabomber: The Education of an American Terrorist connects Kaczynski's abusive experiences under Murray to his later criminal career.

The CIA always win in the end. This is a universal constant. Justice is nothing more than the standards the strong impose on the weak. Their world. Their rules

Ted will die in his cell. The technological system he railed against will take over the world in your lifetime. Native populations and animals will be exterminated and replaced with factories and mining operations. Possibly with slave labor. America will be the one to enact this system

Kaczynski himself said in his interviews that he wasn’t affected by the experiment and it wasn’t as bad as the media makes it out to be. There are recordings and it was just Murray being verbally hostile, not enough to cause permanent mental damage to an adult.

pretty sure it's just a means to dismiss him as a crazed terrorist, or keep the historical narrative to something safe and docile.

He was sixteen, and someone repeatedly attacking your core beliefs may not break you if you're gifted in some way like Ted, but rather harden you.

It’s possible the reason Ted killed people was because he was experimented on by some MK Ultra psychos. That doesn’t really matter though. At this point, you’re judging his writing and if what he says is sound then it’s sound. You don’t need to justify or discredit his killings to justify or discredit his writing.

This dude is amazing, there is one book only in Spanish called la tejedora de sombras which is based on his relationship with Christiana Morgan, they were onto Jungian occultism and had ritualistic sex and many peculiar rites, if you can read Spanish read it, it will change how you see psychology for ever.

It's good to point out the hypocrisy but in this time its next to impossible to live in the first world without and a lot of people have never lived another way. As long as people see the issues and work to remove the dependence I'd say it would be a positive

There isn't much that's been actually declassified about the experiments, but they're essentially just proto-interrogation techniques -- from what little has been released, which is just audio.

What has been released is just the interviewer constantly insulting the person being interviewed. Ted willingly participated in this multiple times, as did hundreds of other people. I don't know why people think there's more to it when 1. There is very little declassified information about it; 2. Ted said it didn't affect him; 3. Others haven't come forth to say it's affected them.
