17771891 No.17771891 [Reply] [Original]

Writing has changed the way I think, and not in a good way.

Now I can't have a single thought or even enjoy a conversation with someone without thinking "I need to write this down so I can somehow incorporate it into my novel".

Every little experience now revolves around how it can translated into words.

i own a library of some 30,000+ volumes, one of the largest in the US. here's a selection of some of the random volumes/titles I've read over the last 2 years--or, rather, not only have read, but annotated extensively, scanned in, talked over, and shared: pykewater.com/pykewater-seminar-master-list

that is of course just the tip of the iceberg. i do nothing but read, and read extensively and passionately.

it's this push to generalize, to make broad statements like "consoom" that set aside any real questions or dialogue, that is really the mark of an unread disposition.
