I have bought and started to read the KJV. I'm not religious but I've started to get interested in Christianity. However as the autistic perfectionist I am I have fallen into the rabbit hole of
>Which translation? They say the KJV isn't accurate (1000+ errors?) and it had to conform to the Church of England.
>Lots of Bibles have their own "revisions" going on
>Apocrypha or no Apocrypha?
>OK so the Catholic bibles were often translated from the Vulgata so I'm getting a translation of a translation
>Ideally you'd need an interlinear version to supplement etc.
>Maybe I should pick another one in one of the languages I speak.
>Maybe I should learn Biblical Hebrew (semi-serious about this since I love Hebrew script)
At the end of the day I'm just reading it and I know it's pretty much the same text for my purposes, but I've got this itch in the back of my head.

Yes, it's an obvious contradiction that probably comes from different myths being combined together. Genesis 4:20-22 is quite explicit "Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock. 21 His brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all those who play the lyre and pipe. 22 Zillah also bore Tubal-cain; he was the forger of all instruments of bronze and iron."

I didn't listen to the pseuds, I sort of got there on my own out of curiosity and getting really smitten by Christian literature and art lately. My country is Catholic so I wondered exactly what differences there were between a Protestant Bible and a Catholic one, and then I got caught in the huge discussion of BIble authenticity.
But yes in the end I'm still reading it to tap into the consciousness of the past so I think any Bible will do. Honestly I still came from the very atheist position of "ew reading the Bible" so even just finding out that with a tiny change in attitude I managed to find a lot of value in a book that I would conceptually dismiss is worth reading the whole thing.
Honestly I'm really confused as to why I'm taking the time every day to read a bit of it even when I'm too tired to read.
