You should read up on the history of 4chan. There where a couple years where Stormfront was heavily using /news/ as a recruitment front and astroturfing pretty much every board on this website.
4chan's weird association with internet nazism actually started because some hackers on here leaked emails proving a popular natsoc radio jockey was actually working for the FBI and on their payroll. I'd argue that if you really took an objective look at this place it would be pretty clear that glowies have been astroturfing right wing extremism and fascism here for a while.
Not even left wing myself, but there's a lot more to this site than meets the eye. Anymore I wouldn't trust half the posts on here not to have some sort of agenda.
