It’s not ramblings. It’s filled with a lot of homespun pretty shallow observations. It’s pretty boring and has ideas like only soldiers should be allowed vote, parliamentary democracy is inefficient. It gets mildly more interesting when he rants about the Jews. I remember a passage when he talks about their smell on the tram. Or when he talks about the Austro Hungarian empire and how ineffective it was.

It’s a pretty uninteresting as books go, contains very little original thought. I don’t understand how people thought it was good because it is insipid.

The thing most people apparently don’t realize is that it’s not a work of political philosophy, and it doesn’t pretend to be.

It’s an autobiography. It’s Hitler reimagining his own life to justify his claim to being the leader of his party and eventually Germany.

The beliefs and positions he advances he’s not making arguments for, as you would in a conventional treatise, but for the personal events in his life which led him to his current opinions.

I personally don’t really think it’s worth the time. Historians have written better and more accurate biographies.
