I mentally relate the judge and Heideggers idea of technology/ metaphysics in that the judge is guided by some sort of perverted quest for knowledge that destroys the very objects he learns about. Also the kind of hidden ide ain heidegger that the culmination of western metaphysics in nihilism true to replace human beings with God's, which is exactly whaylt the judge is: a perverted deity.
