Oceano mare by Alessandro Baricco
I’m mostly eating strawberries from the fridge but I drank some coffee with milk a few hours ago and I’ll probably drink some beer later in the evening. All of these are leftovers from the party my mom held at our house for her graduating students (she’s a prof at university).
Sorry for typing that much, but I wanted to justify why I eat strawberries.

Coffee and reading the great chimera by karagatsis. It's very interesting the way he delves into the psyche of a smart woman. A woman whose intellect is at odds with her nature essentially. I highly recommend it

She’s a theatre artist/scenographer and I’m a STEMfag and currently NEET (really hoping to change that soon). We love each other, but don’t really understand each other’s fields. She’s definitely smarter than me, though, and definitely more successful and hardworking than me. She educated me the right way, and my failure is 100% on me. It’s really weird to read about other anons who think that they’re smarter than their parents. Can’t relate to that at all. Sorry for another blogpost. By the way, I wrote this before reading the latter part of your post. It’s just a thing I sometimes think about. Not often, though. I don’t want to end up like Londonfrog endlessly complaining about my life for years without any change and I’ll probably get around soon. I’m good at programming, after all. Just need to get off my ass.

Update: mom came home from work, she cooked chicken kebab with marrows and we ate it with a bottle of apple cider. She went to sleep, but I stayed up and finished the novel. It’s nice, fairly short. I guess it’s Italian magic realism (I haven’t read much magic realism, but this book reminded me of a Borges story I once read). Some comedy, some man vs man and man vs sea, a couple of erotic scenes (I don’t usually like these, but this novel had a very nice one between a 15 years old girl and an older man). Although most Goodreads reviews for this seem to be written by women, so, you know, buyers beware. I’m not really acquainted with magical realism, so I’m not sure it’s even correct to call it that. My mom likes Cortazar, but I never got around to reading him. I did read Coelho when I was like 8, so I don’t remember anything from him, but I did get a bit of deja vu of him while reading Ocean Sea. It’s probably not based on anything, though, since I actually don’t remember a single word or plot point from Coelho. If you are in the mood for some revenge stories or underage sex and you don’t mind the occasional Coelho bullshit, you can probably read it, it’s short.
