>The light novels have been cancelled
Holy fuck, you shit. You had me worried over nothing. Kino's Journey is still being made, and nothing's been cancelled.

It legitimately is, but kinda gets old after a while.

You'd probably enjoy Jules Verne, or H.G. Wells -adventure novels with anachronistic technology and fantastic elements. Hardly a niche recommendation, but I get the feeling that Kino's Journey was trying to capture the same elements.

I've never read light novels but if you have any interest in history and like Kino's journey, I think you would probably enjoy the manga Otoyomegatari.

Absolute /his/ comfy kino.

Otoyomegatari is fucking great.

I'm a huge fan of Kino's Journey. I'm more familiar with the anime, but I have read a lot of the translated stories online and they're really entertaining.
>The light novels have been cancelled
Were they going to translate more of them to English? I only have the first collection, but I would like to get more if they released them.

What I'd just do is read random wikipedia pages about XIX century marine officers and see if they wrote any books about their travels

I started reading Kino because it got recommended to me when I made a thread on /a/ asking for a Gulliver's travels type story.

So Gulliver's Travels I guess.

It's not getting cancelled, just he opposite we are getting more books for 200 more years!

>Keiichi Sigsawa
>It seems that 20 years have passed since I became Keiichi Sigsawa (note: pen name, in this case the pseudonym), that is, after releasing the virgin work "Kino's Journey the Beautiful World". He feels like seven to eight years, but the calendar doesn't lie more than I do.
>For such a long time, I have been a writer for about 10% of my efforts. The efforts of the people who have worked with us-that is, Mr. Kouhaku Kuroboshi, the editor in charge, the people involved in manufacturing, distribution and sales, and media mix are about 20%.
>And the remaining 70% is due to you, the readers, who are reading this. I was able to keep writing because there were people who read it as "interesting". This is a simple but unwavering fact. Thank you very much. I'm really thankful to you.
>Writing this way seems to be a declaration of retirement, but I have no intention of doing so, and I will do my best for the next 200 years.
>Anyway, there are various plans for the 20th anniversary this year, so please look forward to it!
>It was Keiichi Sigsawa!

Didn't know about this, thanks for letting us know anon. Hope it means they finally translate some of the novels into English.
