[ERROR] No.18621456 [Reply] [Original]

I was raised catholic and the milk toast nature of the church and the creepy effeminate demeanour of most priests makes my skin crawl. The celebration of weakness and mourning is also one of the reasons i feel off put by these communities.

This being said i feel a great sense of disconnect with the modern world and am really craving connection to a community that has a sense of virtue and still respects beauty and being a better person. How do i find this alongside genuine masculine guidance. Are there gospels i can read that celebrate masculinity?
Or perhaps churches that are less depressing?

That's the whole point. Also the fact that you want to pick and choose a new religion like it's a buffet speaks volumes.

Can you explain?

>>18621747
Yeah i have thought about this but it would completely alienate me from my existing family and i also know so little about islam it wouldnt make sense to dive head first into an entirely different faith.

Volumes about what exactly?
I don't view it as a buffet and i'm not trying to pick a new religion. While i was raised catholic i was also brought up with the knowledge that it is the same god regardless of the religion and that coming to understand one's relationship with god takes many unexpected turns and is about a great deal more than merely ritual and if you eat fish on a friday or not.

This is about finding a community and a way to a better way to be in the world not about some petty tribalism.

>Can you explain?
The sect endorsed and basically created by the NSDAP

>Positive Christianity differed from mainstream Christianity in that positive Christianity:
>Rejected the Jewish-written parts of the Bible (including the entire Old Testament)
>Claimed "Aryanhood" and non-Jewishness for Christ
>Promoted the political objective of national unity, to overcome confessional differences, to eliminate Catholicism, and unite Protestantism into a single unitary positive Christian church[11]
>Also encouraged followers to support the creation of an Aryan Homeland
Obviously you won't be into this if you're not into the whole nazi thing

You don't believe in anything if you're so eager to find a new religion the moment your current one doesn't agree with you. Meekness is inherent to Christ and Christianity, have you not even read your religion's scriptures?

>> No.18621881

>>18621867
This is yet another reason i abhor dealing with christians. You preach about love and acceptance but use your faith as a mark of superiority and condescension. If you had any connection reality you would understand that there is a great deal more than simply pestering people or disapproving of their behaviour. Atheists are less insufferable.

Its so frustrating how most people's spirituality (the few there are that are that way inclined- which is a big problem in itself in my books-), especially Christians, seems to depend on the community they want to be a part of. I understand we are social animals and what not but the whole point of spirituality is self transcendence. You should be looking for the truth. This is scriptural.
>seek and you shall find (matt)
>I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. (Proverbs 8:17)
>But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deuteronomy 4:29)
>The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. (Lamentations)
Etc (https://www.openbible.info/topics/seeking_god).
You shouldn't be looking to be a part of something. What you will become a part of is a result of the seeking you will do.

That said, go back and read the bhagavad gita and the upanishads and stop being cucked by semitic weakness.

I would tell you to just look into Orthodoxy since that’s really what you’re looking for but I can’t let it slide by without calling out the fact that you know, if you’re honest, that you’ve not read any scripture and neither have the people around you that you had so much as “milk toast” whatever. You know what you’re saying doesn’t even make sense, as if these people are the literal epitome of what? Catholicism? Cut me a break. It’s like assuming fitness is for fags because everyone in your little treadmill room happens to be gay.

You just have to find a good priest. Nearly every monk I've met has been obese/seemed homosexual and the priests I've seen arent much better. Fortunately I found an African priest who spent years evangelizing in dangerous, pagan parts of Africa, seems like they still have guys with fire in them over there

>> No.18622629

To be honest I've never understood how a Christian can be Catholic.
So-called "Reveverence" of the pope is clearly worshiping a false God, and the Idea that the pope speaks with the voice of God is blasphemy. No man is "infalable", and the only voice of God is the Metatron.
Also praying to wooden crucifixes and statues of the virgin Mary is idolatry. Hell, praying to Mary in itself breaks the first commandment.
And the way priests are treated is sickening. "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter heaven", and yet priests are given bigger houses than most people will ever own, their churches are adorned with gold and treasures and they are placed above others who serve God through genuine charity. All this off the back of believers who are asked to donate their money to the richest organisation in the world to cleanse themselves of sin.
Can you tell me: when did Jesus ever ask for donation? When did he say that salvation can be bought? "give your money to the poor" he said. "Set aside your material possetions and follow me. You will have nothing, and you will be free.

It sounds like you would be interested in a Roman Catholic parish that primarily or exclusively celebrates the traditional Latin Mass. I would check the websites of The Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, The Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, and The Society of St. Pius X to see if they have a parish in your area.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, pic related is a good start.

I've tried thinking about this when I thought of fixing my despair with God but then it occurred for me how sad it is to be shopping for a religion. You can't do that. You need to use what you have, or not use it. This is why Western Buddhism is shit. It's something that you get to while shopping for it.
