Thoughts on Umberto Eco? Especially in regards to his novels after The Name of the Rose and Foucalt's Pendulum. Everyone already knows those are good.

He's just a scuffed Borges (who in turn is just a scuffed Nabokov, who in turn is just a double-scuffed Joyce)

Joyce wishes he were half as good as Borges.

>> No.18640792

Great primarily because he's writing historical fiction and actually has a very strong background in history, there isn't enough of that within the genre

I wish there was a right-wing Umberto Eco.
He loved yanks and blacks too much.
Also women.

Baudolino was great, very entertaining stuff. Island of the Day Before was pretty good, though I think it was before the ones you mentioned. Haven't read Any others

Umberto Eco should have given more money to Autonomia so they could have killed more cops and Prime Ministers.

You're too dumb to even have been filtered by the Italian ultraleft mileaux. You know math is math, you're too dumb to know what operaismo is or why it matters to name of the rose.

Island of the Day Before was his third novel, published in 1994.
