Why? He only “denies” things he can’t get. He wanted sex with hot young girls and couldn’t get it. So it’s not actually denying anything, just coping.

If he really wanted to deny the will to live he lay naked on concrete floor all day and eat nothing but raw potatoes. But he actually lived a comfortable life and had a nice house, had pets, ate good food, drank, socialized, etc.
