There has been barely any actual technological progress outside the digital word (ie, meaningless entertainment distractions) in the past 50 years. Planes quite literally fly slower today than they did then. You have vast government agencies meant to ensure our health installing guidelines across all industries that end with most of the population being obese. You have worthless psychological studies that are one giant replication crisis as the pretext for mass medication and the greatest chemical experiment in human history with the general population as the lab rats all under the guise of scientific authority. Etc.

There can be no revelation or enlightenment through science, it is at its core an escapist enterprise that does more to obscure the world than reveal it.
