Is there an explanation in the bible for why their are other religions throughout the world? Its one of my main hesitations

They are just considered idolatry. A cause is never given directly but the implied cause is that they just stop trusting God and decide to try worshipping other stuff to see if they get better results.

If you are reading the Bible start with the Gospels. Christianity is about hope, and that hope is described in the Gospels.

kind of a crazy question. Bible is just an artifact of a peculiar culture clash with the Romans and some middle eastern tribe, you are expecting too much of it. The bible has become a kind of idol in itself these days in the way it is approached. We have forgotten that religions arise out of the direct experience of reality during trauma (usually) i.e. NDE or Shamanic sickness. Read about some real Shamanism and you will see where religions came from. If you have that experience yourself, then all religions look like so much childish delusion. I was reading Daniel Defoe’s “Robinson Crusoe” and the explanation seems to have been that the devil has tricked people away from worshipping the one true God, which seems to have been the general Christian explanation for why people worshipped different gods or had different religions. This is why if you read writings of Christians from the 18th century and before they call pagan Gods “devils” when they encounter pagans in Asia, America or Africa.

Here's a short video that goes into it. The presentation is kinda onions, but it does a good job of explaining the history of the origin of other religions from biblical sources: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1rai6WoOJU

Fundamentally, it comes down to idolatry - idolatry, etymologically, comes from the Greek eidos, meaning thought/idea, and latria, meaning worship. Idolatry is the worship of ideas created by humans in time - and idols in historical paganism were statues of and personifications of humanly constructed ideas. The worship of the Holy Trinity involves the worship of the Truth, who is a person that became incarnate 2000 years ago,

In addition to that, in the Wisdom of Solomon, Solomon writes about the origin of idols, as being distorted memories of real people that the pagans wanted to honour:

Wisdom of Solomon 14:12-17

"For the devising of idols was the beginning of fornication,
And the invention of them the corruption of life:
For neither were they from the beginning, neither shall they be for ever;
For by the vaingloriousness of men they entered into the world,
And therefore was a speedy end devised for them.
For a father worn with untimely grief,
Making an image of the child quickly taken away,
Now honored him as a god which was then a dead man,
And delivered to those that were under him mysteries and solemn rites.
Afterward the ungodly custom, in process of time grown strong, was kept as a law,
And by the commandments of princes the graven images received worship.
And when men could not honor them in presence because they lived far off,
Imagining the likeness from afar,
They made a visible image of the king whom they honored,
That by their zeal they might flatter the absent as if present."

This song's lyrics also perfectly captures the horror idolatry - of inventing something to love, and killing yourself when you know it can't return your love.

Many of the pagan goddesses were literally the waifus of their time. You're seeing occultists in /x/ literally worship their anime waifus as Gods in order to get occult effects, and the bronies (are they still around?) were getting into tibetan occultism to make their pony waifus real (tulpas).

Everything in this horrifying modern world culture unwittingly screams the truth of Christ, and demonstrates the horror of idolatry.
