I started to read it when it got popular on Tumblr, around 2013. So I was 12. I have very much enjoyed the book but I found it kind of confusing because the language is so flowery I guess you could say. Picked it up again at 19 and made so much more sense. Read East of Eden by John Steinbeck. It will do you wonders in showing you true beauty in literature, in a simple but not necessarily simplified or dumbed-down story, in very accessible language, that tells a remarkable story about sacrifice with some very heart-warming characters. You can keep a guilty pleasure, but you need to get off of this Twilight/HG/HP boat if you mean to go anywhere. It's a children's ride on a circular track where the starting point and the destination are one.

If not, trot along and continue reading what you want. If you really do want to expand your perspective and dive into literature, then this thread is worse than useless. You'll simply get joke answers. The best way to get actual recommendations would be to lurk this board (read without posting anything impertinent) and investigate titles you come across elsewhere on the web (goodreads, wikipedia, etc.).

That being said, I'd recommend Woolf's The Waves or Wilde's Picture of Dorian Gray to get you started.
